Fighter (女武闘家, Onna Budōka) is a former Adventurer who was part of a porcelain-ranked party on a Goblin Slaying Quest. After the quest ended in disaster for her, she retired and left the Frontier.

Appearance[]

Fighter is a young woman with long black hair tied into a waist-length ponytail. She is dressed in pants and robes that prioritize ease of movement while her sturdy boots compliments the impact of her kicks as a martial artist. She is also very beautiful and curvy, owing her well-built figure to her rigorous training.

Personality[]

Before her ill-fated quest, Fighter was a confident young woman who firmly believed in the power of her martial arts, which were taught to her by her late father. She cared about her comrades trying to keep them on good terms and trying to calm Priestess of her worries when she was obviously justifiably nervous.

When things went horribly wrong, Fighter didn't hesitate to hold the line against the Goblins by herself to buy Priestess time to escape, even when she knew a terrible fate awaited her if she didn't retreat with Priestess.

After her ordeal, she sadly became despondent and unresponsive.

Chronology[]

Background[]

Fighter trained under her father in martial arts until his death. After his death, she decided to become an Adventurer alongside her childhood friend, Warrior. The two went on to recruit Wizard into their growing Party and had already accomplished some novice quests.

Anime Episode 1 FIghter and Wizard

Fighter happily welcomes Priestess into the Party

As Priestess had arrived to become an Adventurer, Warrior had overheard she was a Healer and scouted her for his fledgling Party, to which Fighter was happy to welcome her. As they decided to take on Goblin Slaying Quest, Fighter was confident the Party could handle Goblins now that they had a Healer.

On the way to the caves, Fighter overheard Priestess's justified worries about the Party's lack of supplies, a plan, and her obvious nervousness having never done a Quest and lack of team synergy. Fighter tries to calm her by explaining how weak Goblins are and how skilled the Party is, showcasing her own impressive marital arts. As Priestess still showed signs of nervousness, Fighter promised she and the others would protect her and show her the ropes as well as playfully chastised Warrior's overconfidence and Wizard abrasiveness.

As they entered the caves, Fighter went ahead with Warrior as his enthusiasm broke the Party formation they had agreed upon only moments ago. She quickly raced back when she hears Wizard and Priestess screaming out as they had been ambushed and Wizard critically injured. She instantly covered Priestess as she used her Heal Miracle to try and save Wizard. She tried to give Warrior back up, but he was wildly swinging his longsword around, making it impossible for her to get close enough to help, even when he is stabbed in the thigh. Suddenly, Warrior's longsowrd gets caught on the cave wall, disarming him, allowing the Goblins to tear him apart right before Fighter's eyes.

Fighter's luck runs out

Realizing how grim things looked, Fighter orders Priestess to retreat with Wizard as she holds the line for them despite Priestess's pleas for her to run with her. Fighter easily takes down some of the Goblins until a Hobgoblin enters the fray and easily overpowers her allowing the Goblins to pin her down and strip her naked. Knowing there was nothing she could do, Fighter tearfully pleads with Priestess to save herself and Wizard as the Goblins proceed to rape her and take her back to their den to be their plaything.

Fighter broken by her experiences

Moments later, as Goblin Slayer arrived and slew all the Goblins, Priestess searched for her and tearfully cradled Fighter upon finding her, thanking her for protecting her and letting her know she was safe now. After the incident and the death of her friend, Fighter became traumatized and unresponsive as she was being taken to a temple to recover along with the women whom her party had meant to rescue. The traumatic event caused her to quit being an Adventurer and leave the Frontier Town.

Goblin Slayer Volume 8[]

High Elf Archer learned of Priestess's first Party when she accompanied her to Wizard's grave near the Capital. When she asked if all her former Party members were dead, Priestess revealed that Fighter is alive, but adds that she does not have enough courage to go see her. Priestess reveals she has been keeping tabs on Fighter though, implying they may or may not exchange letters.
